DanceAbility Tips: Process to Progress

It has been my experience that to progress as a dancer you need to be willing to allow yourself to have Process. Meaning, you have to allow yourself to make mistakes without judging yourself – to be imperfect.

You need to take things on gradients, breaking them down, refining your movements and understanding of them. Be less interested in being interesting as you are dancing, and more interested in what you are wanting to create and communicate through the expression of dance.

You have to develop a certain patience and enjoyment for process and your progress will become a natural evolution– and one that may surpass any expectation you had to begin with!
